This week I'm back with the weekly winners. But, sadly, not much has happened in the finance world the past (few) weeks. But I do have the three winners of this week!

#1 Tendo Ice Bridge +18% ($4.50)

Tendo Ice Bridge

Tendo Ice Bridge Is not a very hot (or cool) card, in the sense that it's not that good. But, it does see play in EDH. The reason is simple: it's used to provide mana of any color to cast your General or any other good cards you need to get your game going. It can be played alongside cards as City of Brass, Mana Confluence and Gemstone Mine.

The recent price jump is due to a buyout. That's is visible by looking at the available stock at webstores. Most of them have only 1 copy left. The card was gaining in price and popularity, and someone must have thought a buyout was in order for this card.

#2 Seedborn Muse +3.9% ($11.40)

Seedborn Muse

Even in the early days of EDH people have speculated that Seedborn Muse should be banned. But that actually never happened. The main reason is that the card itself is not broken enough just by itself. And since it's a creature you can get rid of it fairly easy. But when you combo with the card, you opponent will not be happy.

The recent printing of Prophet of Kruphix Seedborn Muse has gained in popularity, because EDH decks now have access to another, similar piece of tech, making the deck a bit more consistent. And being able to cast stuff at instant speed is a sweet thing, especially when Damia, Sage of Stone is your commander. You just do all your stuff in your opponent's turn and redraw your hand in your own upkeep. Pretty sweet! Check out an example of a Damia EDH deck.

#3 Abrupt Decay +8.3%  ($11)

Abrupt Decay

This card is technically not at it's all time high, but it's prerelease price was so overestimated that it plummeted in value after the printing of RTR. But, Abrupt Decay has not been as valuable since October 2012, and that is a interesting note to take.

The card is playable in Modern, Legacy and even in Vintage. Some Vintage ran it during Bazaar of Moxes.

Abrupt Decay is a solid pickup for anyone that's interesting in getting into any of the eternal formats. It's versatile and uncounterable. And there are a lot of threats it can deal with in Legacy. And with the printing of each new set, new 1, 2 or 3 mana cards are printed that might become Legacy viable. Yes I'm looking at you Spirit of the Labyrinth and Brimaz, King of Oreskos.

But be aware, Abrupt Decay is a good candidate for a reprint in Modern Masters 2.

More from Peter:

Weekly Winners 2021 - 36

Just like last week, the Commander: Innistrad: Midnight Hunt spoilers are the main factor of influence on the markets this week. There are enough cards spoiled for the brewing to commence and we expect a lot more movement in the coming weeks!

Like every week, just in time for (digital) FNM, I'll now tell you about the cards that will be the talk of the (digital) town tonight!

Catalyst Stone Daybreak Ranger Oboro, Palace in the Clouds

Weekly Winners 2021 - 13

This week we saw a lot of interesting movement. Most of it caused by Strixhaven spoilers, but the old frame fetchlands spiked as well.

Deserted Temple Mox Tantalite Windswept Heath

For the first time since the COVID pandemic hit, our interest page looks like normal for a change! Many (huge) spikes from different sets and eras. I choose to see this as an omen of better times ahead!

Chain of Smog Illumination Magma Sliver

Somewhat of an odd week. Not really any spikes that has one really obvious or notable reason and of course still a lot of older cards moving up.

Selective Memory Pearl Medallion Zombie Master

Weekly Winners 2021 - 08

The most interesting week in a long, long time! Maybe I'm a but biased due to my love for Legacy, but this week that format is the biggest driving factor behind the three weekly winners.

Ethereal Forager Stifle Allosaurus Shepherd

Weekly Winners 2021 - 07

An interesting week, again driven by old card speculation and EDH. But we also have a special edition of Cheap Pickups, with a new way to look at cards that are (still) cheap pickups, but might go up later.

A strange and eventful week in the world of finance. Where you'd expect tons of cards to spike due to new brews, we mainly see a new hausse of reserved list cards being bought out. And also non-reserved list cards that happen to be MTG classics.
