Weekly Winners (11)

Halfway through the DTK spoilers, we can see the markets reacting to the new toys that will be printed in the new set. So. just like every week, just in time for FNM, I present you the cards that will be the talk of the town tonight.

#1 Mastery of the Unseen +777.8% ($3.95)

Mastery of the Unseen

When Dragons of Tarkir is released we have a Standard environment with morph, megamorph and manifest. A lot of stuff will be played facedown, and many flippings will occur. And with Mastery of the Unseen you have the extra benefit of gaining life for each creature you have. A strong strategy in a facedown meta.

Mastery of the Unseen sees (mostly sideboard) play in 7 Standard archetypes, but you can really expect to face it in Boros and Abzan Midrange decks. Interesting to know is that because of Mastery of the Unseen mirror matches between decks that run it can get pretty grindy. Unprepared players might face a 0-0-1 score. So don't forget to pack outs in your sideboard to get rid of your opponent's Mastery of the Unseen.

#2 Master of Waves +147.5% ($7.30)

Master of Waves

Master of Waves is back! And with that Mono-blue devotion might be back as well! And why? Well because of this guy from Dragons of Tarkir

The synergy between these cards is obvious and pretty powerful. Especially when you also include Thassa, God of the Sea. Check out this thread on mtgsalvation to get an idea what's brewing.

#3 Scion of the Ur-Dragon +21% ($18.95)

Scion of the Ur-Dragon

I have featured Scion of the Ur-Dragon before, and this week he is a winner again. It just keeps going up, and a $18,95 price tag for a 5-colored creature that sees no competitive play is pretty steep! But there is also real demand for the card. Everyone that considers building a dragon deck for EDH or casual must stop and consider this card.

But be careful! Scion of the Ur-Dragon does not work with come into play abilities! The dragon you put into your graveyard is copied, but the ETB does not trigger. Luckily, in Dragons of Tarkir many dragons are spoiled with an ability that triggers when you attack.

Scion of the Ur-Dragon cannot sustain it's huge price tag over a long period of time. When new sets are printed dragons will be out of fashion. Prices will dwindle and players that want to invest in decks with new toys, printed in future sets can easily trade away their Scion of the Ur-Dragons for a nice price.

Just like last week, the Commander: Innistrad: Midnight Hunt spoilers are the main factor of influence on the markets this week. There are enough cards spoiled for the brewing to commence and we expect a lot more movement in the coming weeks!

Catalyst Stone Daybreak Ranger Oboro, Palace in the Clouds

This week we saw a lot of interesting movement. Most of it caused by Strixhaven spoilers, but the old frame fetchlands spiked as well.

Somewhat of an odd week. Not really any spikes that has one really obvious or notable reason and of course still a lot of older cards moving up.

Selective Memory Pearl Medallion Zombie Master

The most interesting week in a long, long time! Maybe I'm a but biased due to my love for Legacy, but this week that format is the biggest driving factor behind the three weekly winners.

A strange and eventful week in the world of finance. Where you'd expect tons of cards to spike due to new brews, we mainly see a new hausse of reserved list cards being bought out. And also non-reserved list cards that happen to be MTG classics.
