Weekly Winners (43)

Standard is on fire! Many, many cards that are played in competitive Standard decks are up this week. And not only the cards in the top tier decks, also cards from other, less performing decks are on the rise. Be sure to check out out complete list of interests to get a broad view.  Once again, just in time for FNM, I present you the cards that will be the talk of the town tonight.

#1 Hidden Dragonslayer +74.4% ($2.86)

Hidden Dragonslayer

Hidden Dragonslayer was pulled from obscurity by Stephen Dykman, the winner of SCG Standard Open Michigan. In the sideboard of his GW Aggro deck, he ran two copies of Hidden Dragonslayer. When you read the card, its use should be fairly obvious. Played first as a megamorph, and later turned face up to destroy one of your opponent's fatties.

And don't forget, you improve your own board state by not only removing one of your opponent's creatures, Hidden Dragonslayer is a 2/1 lifelink creature that you get to keep on your board. Gaining life means you improve your board state even more.

Please note that Hidden Dragonslayer's price increase is 74.4%, but it is still 'just' a $2.86 card.

#2 Bloodsoaked Champion +60.5% ($3.21)

Bloodsoaked Champion

Another card that can be linked to a tournament winner. Lisdan Marrero won the TCG Standard States Florida tournament. And when someone wins a tournament of that size, his or her deck will be scrutinized and analyzed. The result of this analysis is that Bloodsoaked Champion caught the eye. Not because the card was a unique or new addition that only Marrero made, but simply because $2 is a low pricetag for a card that is usually played as a 4-off in a Standard deck that can win tournaments.

The deck, RG Aggro, is your typical sligh type of aggro deck. Cheap creatures to knock down your opponent's life. Finished off with some burn and, in this case, some bigger creatures to finish the job.

#3 Liliana, Heretical Healer +51.3% ($24.98)

Liliana, Heretical Healer

Liliana, Heretical Healer does not see much play in Standard. Some decks run it as a 1 or 2 off, but it doesn't see allround play yet. During last weekend's Pro Tour BFZ, Liliana, Heretical Healer did get airtime and coverage, showing how cool the card can be. The result was that the card was sold very fast.

But, no copy of Liliana, Heretical Healer made it to the Pro Tour top 8. The initial hype died down a little -as is visible in the graph- but Liliana, Heretical Healer is still a steady $8.5 up since last week.

Just like last week, the Commander: Innistrad: Midnight Hunt spoilers are the main factor of influence on the markets this week. There are enough cards spoiled for the brewing to commence and we expect a lot more movement in the coming weeks!

Catalyst Stone Daybreak Ranger Oboro, Palace in the Clouds

Weekly Winners 2021 - 13

This week we saw a lot of interesting movement. Most of it caused by Strixhaven spoilers, but the old frame fetchlands spiked as well.

Chain of Smog Illumination Magma Sliver

Somewhat of an odd week. Not really any spikes that has one really obvious or notable reason and of course still a lot of older cards moving up.

The most interesting week in a long, long time! Maybe I'm a but biased due to my love for Legacy, but this week that format is the biggest driving factor behind the three weekly winners.

A strange and eventful week in the world of finance. Where you'd expect tons of cards to spike due to new brews, we mainly see a new hausse of reserved list cards being bought out. And also non-reserved list cards that happen to be MTG classics.
