Battle of the Beasts

Remember the days your opponent scooped when you Show and Tell'd Progenitus into play? Who knew at that time things would only get better for Sneak and Show (and worse for their opponents)? Yeah Emrakul and Griselbrand, I'm looking at you!

Today I focus your attention on a funny coincidence: Progenitus is on an all time low ($13,34), where Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is on an all time high ($38,58)!

Price history
In the graph below you can see the price history of both cards. It's easy to see the steady price increase of Emrakul, where Progenitus is slowly but surely dropping in price.

For your overview I've added Griselbrand to the mix as well. That card was released on may 4th, shortly before we started to track prices. 

It's interesting to note that the card prices seem to have little to do with legacy format's Sneak and Show (SnS) archetype. Right after Griselbrand was printed, it replaced Progenitus in almost all decklists. Progenitus was able to maintain its price for quite a long time before it started slipping away recently.

Emrakul, popular for Aeons
It seems that Emrakul is (and will be) popular for quite some time. It seems to be rather unstoppable in it's rise to glory. It's a card that has quite some casual flavor, but at the same time people run it in tournament winning decks.
