It's a bit of a slow week, which is probably in anticipation of the release of March of the Machine today. Next week I expect more fluctuations because of brewing.
Just like last week, this Weekly Winners is a little bit different than usual. I am currently on a short holiday and flying back home on Friday, so I was forced to write this article yesterday (so, on Thursday). So if there was a major spike today which you don't see reflected here on the Weekly Winners, then that's the reason, and I'll try to make up for that next week. But since I am back home again then, the next article will be done as you're used to!
Like every week, just in time for FNM, I'll tell you about the Magic: the Gathering cards that will be the talk of the town tonight! Come discuss this week's price movements with us on Discord.

Harvey put out a new article, and its a good one! In his Over and Under series he writes about his picks of most overvalued and most undervalued card at this moment. And also reviews the cards he tipped in his article from last month.
Corey wrote his Modern Times article about cards that can make an impact in Modern from the upcoming March of the Machine set. With the new battles coming, it's good to be prepared and know what you may be expected to play against in Modern. Let Corey tell you what to prepare for!

Dramatic Entrance is an instant that offers players the ability to put a creature card from their hand directly onto the battlefield, making it a powerful tool for quickly summoning powerful creatures ahead of the curve. The card's versatility and potential for explosive plays have made it a popular choice in Commander decks, especially ones revolving around, for example, Baru, Wurmspeaker (Extended Art) or Grothama, All-Devouring. As a rare card with only one printing in Shadowmoor the card is prone to being more expensive until it is reprinted. As I've discussed in earlier articles, it's important to note that Shadowmoor came out in 2008 during the recession, meaning fewer people were inclined to buy Magic cards. This makes it so that rares and mythics from this set tend to be more expensive. So why has this card's price jumped so much the past week?
AspiringSpike has once again shaken up the community with his latest video featuring the power of Dramatic Entrance in Modern gameplay. As a well-known content creator, AspiringSpike's use of Dramatic Entrance to cheat Atraxa, Grand Unifier onto the battlefield has caused a significant surge in demand for the card on TCGplayer. With its limited availability, Dramatic Entrance's price has surged from a little under $2 to $12.
Cavalier of Dawn is not an unknown card to most players. The Cavalier cycle came out in Core Set 2020 and has one in every color. During their time in Standard, most of the Cavaliers saw at least some play, and others still see play in constructed formats. The white Cavalier has seen play for some time already in Pioneer in 4-color or 5-color Fires of Invention decks. And while this deck is putting up some decent results, it's not the reason for this growth.
Battle Angels of Tyr is a powerful creature from the Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate set. It has flying and the lesser known Myriad ability, making it a potent threat in combat. When it deals combat damage to a player, it can trigger multiple effects that depend on that player's game state, including drawing a card, creating a Treasure token, and gaining life. With its versatile abilities and strong stats, Battle Angels of Tyr is a valuable addition to any Angel or Knight-themed Commander deck.
The recent spike in price for Battle Angels of Tyr can be attributed to several factors, including its role as an excellent upgrade for the upcoming Cavalry Charge Commander precon deck, as well as its popularity among players who enjoy Angel and Knight-themed Commander decks. Additionally, the mention of the card in a video by the Nitpicking Nerds has likely contributed to its increased demand and subsequent price increase.
Definitely not the biggest riser of the past week, but I saw this card on the Interests and wanted to know what's up. When the reason for the price moving up became apparent to me, I simply wanted to talk about it. For those who aren't familiar with Humility, it's an older card from Tempest and is on the Reserved List. It's a good card if you want to make some friends, since it makes all creatures lose all abilities and have base power and toughness 1/1. So your opponent's big bombs with powerful ETB effects? Have fun with your 1/1! If you want to make some extra friends along the way, make sure you pair it with Night of Souls' Betrayal or Ethereal Absolution.
But the reason for it moving up a bit is Legacy, and the same reason as a few weeks back when we talked about the card Staff of the Storyteller. The deck wants to generate card advantage and eventually win by going wide with small 1/1 tokens. And while you have a bunch of tokens anyway, it now also plays Humility, since your creatures are 1/1s without abilities anyway, making sure your opponent's creatures also are just 1/1s without abilities.
As mentioned above, the card is on the Reserved List, meaning no extra copies will enter the market, making the price more easily manipulated. So be a bit wary, but it seems like the prices of cards with powerful abilities like Humility only have one way to go, which is up.
Please note: for our 'record low' we consider the price of the card over the past 7 years. Many cards have been even cheaper (a) decade(s) ago. Also note: some cards are still going down, and might be even cheaper pickups next week.
One with the Multiverse has been identified by the MTGStocks Premium Penny Stocks feature as a card that has reached its bottom and is starting a consistent uptrend.
That's it for this week. Make sure to check back next week for more Weekly Winners!
Arjen
Arjen has been playing Magic since Ice Age and has mostly played the Legacy format. Ten years ago he founded MTGStocks because he and his friends wanted to buy Magic singles at the right time to play with.
The changes around the Commander format are really having an interesting effect on the market. Fortunately, Pioneer and Modern are also making sure that things are moving.
