Onto the Weekly Winners!

#1 Bureau Headmaster $2.96 (+229%)

As you've most likely noticed, Marvel cards were printed in a Secret Lair not too long ago and the supply has started hitting the secondary market. This means there may be more incentive for people to actually start building their decks and are looking for cards to support their chosen super hero. In the case of Bureau Headmaster we don't really need to do a deep-dive. Captain America, First Avenger cares about Equipments and flinging them.

Two weeks ago we already saw Equipments spike that are pretty well... equipped... for being thrown at the opponent, and now we're seeing more support for this archetype moving. Bureau Headmaster makes Equipment spells cheaper to play and makes equipping them cheaper. But this isn't the only card moving, since Inventory Management has also made the weekly Interests. This card can let you equip all your Equipments and Auras at split second instant speed. And I feel Argentum Armor also is on the rise for this reason, but somehow this seems to pertain to the Magic Game Night: Free-For-All only, since other versions can still be purchased for under two dollars.

But that isn't the end of the Captain America story. We also see Codsworth, Handy Helper moving up quickly for its Equipment support. Did you notice that three of these cards are from Universes Beyond: Fallout? Two of these cards are found in the Scrappy Survivors precon that also went up 8.8% in the past week.

#2 Rev, Tithe Extractor (Anime) $106.69 (+209%)

There are a lot of cards from Foundations currently on the Interests. That's most likely because the set officially releases today and trading has now fully started. That said, I'm a little bit surprised by some cards we see on there. Remember, Foundations is an entry-level Magic set designed to provide a common base for new and experienced players and will be Standard legal for a long time and will also be printed for a long time. The supply can be huge.

That said, let's talk about Rev who's from the Foundations Jumpstart set. Rev can give a creature deathtouch when you attack, so even if you attack with a 1/1 it can take out a far larger creature. So your opponent may be hesitant to block and just take the damage. However, Rev also creature a Treasure token when you deal combat damage to a player. And on top of that you get to exile the top of your opponent's library and play that card for as long as it remains exiled. That's a pretty interesting strategy that people are going to be playing around. Commanders like Prosper, Tome-Bound also have been pretty popular, and while these two are very different, they may attract the same kind of players.

When looking at the price we see something interesting. The average price is over a hundred dollars, while the market price is still lagging a bit around $40. This wouldn't be the first time a card from these Jumpstart sets reached high prices, like Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm or Allosaurus Shepherd. And while those are mythics, there is one important aspect that's Rev has: the waifu tax. Don't underestimate what this does to the price of a card.

And while we're talking about popular cards from Foundations Jumpstart let's also quickly highlight Scythecat Cub. This Cat will put +1/+1 counters on a creature whenever you put a land on the battlefield, but can even double the amount of counters whenever you trigger it for a second time during a turn. And there are plenty of ways, like Fetchlands, to make that happen.

Make sure you read Matt's What's Hot in Magic Foundations? article to get some more interesting insights from the set.

#3 Haughty Djinn $3.72 (+58%)

Now that we've discussed two Commander cards, and some more, lets also pick a card that's moving because of constructed formats. In Standard we're currently seeing Haughty Djinn once again. Not too long ago there were mono-blue decks that tried to play, and protect, this Djinn, but with the printing of Abhorrent Oculus the deck has shifted to Azorius.

With the... help... of Helping Hand and Recommission you try to reanimate these creatures from the graveyard and protect them. If your opponent tries to kill them, you bounce them in response and cast them from your hand. And if they do get killed, just try to reanimate them again or get your reanimation spells back with Founding the Third Path.

Having played against this deck numerous times on Arena, I can tell you it's very strong and really hard to properly win against. Or maybe I'm simply playing decks that are very weak against this archetype. Please tell me how to win against them!

Cheap Pickups

Please note: for our 'record low' we consider the price of the card over the past seven years. Many cards were even cheaper (a) decade(s) ago. Also note: some cards are still going down, and might be even cheaper pickups next week.

Manifold Mouse $3.88 - Moving up!

Manifold Mouse has been identified by the MTGStocks Premium Penny Stocks feature as a card that has reached its bottom and is starting a consistent uptrend.

Doubling Season $30.00 - Stable, but may go down more

Dark Depths $2.20 - Moving down
